Inspirational song: Popcorn (Gershon Kingsley)

Yesterday was rough. For all that I was absolutely exhausted, I was too tired to sleep. I woke up every fifteen or twenty minutes, all night long. I know the timing of this, because one of my time-waster games that I use to calm my thoughts when I'm overwhelmed is an app of casino penny slots (for free, obvs). It gives bonus points every fifteen minutes, and I kept flipping open my iPad every time I woke up. Sometimes it was ready to collect, a few times it wasn't. I had only slept about ten minutes those times. On purpose, I did absolutely nothing of value. Wait, that's not how we are retraining our thinking on that topic. I did something incredibly valuable: I rested. All day. I was still a little wobbly on my feet at bedtime, but for the most part, I feel normal, for me. I expect tomorrow to be relatively all right.

The Mr spent all afternoon on the next stage of the tiny cabin. It will have a barn roof, with a narrow sleeping loft so that he can be up off the floor, away from doggie business during the night. It will be fairly tall overall. Not exactly two stories, but, more than one really tall one. He built the upper wall sections today, that will be connected by the barn roof. I always assumed that the loft would be too short to stand up in, but I think we both are short enough we could stand upright across most of it. I will be accompanying him on one of the upcoming trips to go install it, or at least get the pieces up the hill. He might be taking the pieces up to stage them at the parking spot before then, I am not sure. Either way, I'll be glad I rested ahead of it.

To top off a day of recovery, the usual group of conspirators got together to get our silly on. A bunch of us met at our neighbor's to watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail for the first time in years. It has been long enough that I forgot a few bits of it, but enough was burned in my memory to take me back in time to relive youthful nerdiness. And just like the last time I watched it, more than ten years ago, I kicked myself that we were right next to the filming locations for the sorcerer Tim and bridge scenes in Glencoe, Scotland, and didn't know it while we were there. I'm not sure how I would have behaved differently, but I know I would have viewed the town differently had my knowledge been complete.
