It is on its way to bitterly cold tonight. In most of the places I've lived over the last twenty years, tonight's overnight low would be cause for panic. Pretty faces on TV news would remind us to leave water dripping so pipes don't freeze, and warn us not to leave pets outside. It's not even a thing here. One of the news anchors tonight said that we were "easing" into cold weather this year. It's all a matter of perspective.
My daughter was over briefly this afternoon, and when she left, she called me outside to notice that it was gently spitting snow, even though the unsettled weather had mostly moved on already. So while we didn't get the snow we hoped for yesterday, we still saw tiny pebbles of frozen precipitation. I got excited, and sent a photo to Mr S-P:
So he responded, better get the snowblower, and illustrated his meaning:
