There probably won't be a mother's day snowstorm here this year, but that doesn't mean we are 100% done with cool weather. It didn't get out of the 50s today, nor will it tomorrow, and both days are windy as heck. They said 35-45 mph winds, with occasional gusts approaching 70. This counts as our "don't plant until mother's day" bad weather, right?
I didn't want to leave the house today. In all honesty, I didn't want to leave my chair, but that wasn't possible either. I did get to huddle under blankets for a very long time. (No! I will not turn the heat back on!) But all good things must end, and I had to throw on clothes and give a friend a ride to pick up a rental car while theirs is being worked on. Had to deposit checks while I was out, because I hate using phone deposit. And I figured while I was at it, I'd go get no-effort food, because a microwaved pad Thai and gluten-free cupcakes sounded way better than cooking anything we already had. Now that I'm back home, and watching the wind blow my trees around, I wonder how I ever forced myself out into it.
I will spend the rest of my evening listening to the wind and yelling at the dogs to stop being obnoxious to passers-by. It is my customary way to close out a day. If I feel really frisky, I might start studying beekeeping videos.
