For more than a month, we here at Smith Park West have been keeping a marvelous secret. Now that the whole family has been told, I'm finally allowed to go public. Valerie is getting a sibling! The best job of my life is about to double in scope. I get to say grandchildren. The due date is still many months away, sometime in late July. As before, we are not interested in learning ahead of then what variety of plumbing the little scamp will have, so don't expect gender reveal party photos from us.
We are super happy about this news. Valerie doesn't seem to quite get it, but we will work on ways to make it make sense to her. There is plenty of time for that.
Three weeks after we got the news, Saturday Night Live had the perfect digital short to giggle over while we kept it secret. I'll put a link to it at the bottom of the pictures. It's their "Home Goods" bit from the Paul Rudd episode. From now on, I will be pronouncing the word grandchildren exactly as Aidy Bryant does in this short. There is no other way.
