This week's larger group game was quite a puzzle. When we left off last time, two weeks ago, we had just discovered an access point to a sand-buried room in a long-abandoned city, so when we picked up this evening, we were lowering ourselves through a hole in the roof into a large, dark space. We had no idea the purpose of the place, and we had to work to obtain even a dim light to explore by. From there, the rest of our time was dedicated to trying to open locked doors. Over and over, smashing in doors with our shoulders, and getting super frustrated with the one door that opened into the room. Did we eventually find keys? Yes. Was it comically late in the process? Also yes.
Not until the end of our usual game time did we find anything other than doors, halls, more doors, stairs, more doors, etc. By the time the new information arrived, I was wiped out. I could hear the rest of the group still talking, but the words had no meaning to me. I only vaguely understand what we learned, and I have no idea what to do with that knowledge. Our kids had to drop off the chat early to put Valerie to bed. I kind of wish the whole game had paused at the same time. We should all play by Valerie's rules. I'd probably still have two brain cells to rub together by now if we had.
